New Revelation

Desperation. Helplessness. Self Pity. Burden. Responsibility. Sometimes when you have to deal with all that simultaneously, it gets a little too tiresome. Its a pressure, that not everyone can let slide or handle easily. Some do an exceptional job of brushing it aside, of tackling it effortlessly. To them jumping over obstacles comes naturally. They don’t complain. They know for a fact that problems are part and parcel of life. And so they choose not to dwell in it too much.

Since we’re not all the same, there are certain people who’d any day take a short-cut to avoid such problems. Whether that short-cut comes at a cost or not, it doesn’t matter to them. So long as the problem rushes past without touching them. They are the people who get pushed around by such trivial matters. They risk everything in order to save themselves. Ideally they wouldn’t qualify for my “favourite people on earth” list. But recently I saw/heard  something that completely changed my thinking. It may not apply to every case but it certainly does to some. There’s always a reason behind everything. Sometimes these people may have bigger issues to deal with, than we can begin to think of. Sometimes they are driven to extreme ends not because of their “bad/evil nature” but because circumstances force them to choose some insane options. Its true that life always gives us options, but not necessarily either one is feasible. Not everybody has a black heart. Some just need a loving hug or a friendly (forgiving) pat from time to time, to help them take the correct decisions. Insecurity often plays a major role in their lives. So showing faith and encouragement helps a lot. It makes them feel wanted, feel loved. They begin to realize that there is someone looking out for them. With that kind of outlook, it becomes easier to face problems head-on regardless of how tough it may seem at first. Soon the short-cuts all dissipate. And you’ve thus helped build someone’s esteem and confidence. Forgive and forget. Its okay to let them know, this is not the end of the world. And that you’re there for them, unconditionally. Often, a few considerate words are all it takes to wash away the enormity of one’s mistake.

So let’s hold hands, and fight this together! 🙂
